Derby Labour 2023 Manifesto Launch

Derby Labour Party launched their local election 2023 manifesto with Labour leaders Baggy Shanker and Cllr Nadine Peatfield laying out Labour’s vision for Derby. A vision that puts people first, delivers a city centre for all, responsible leadership, delivers your services and protects the planet.

Alex Norris MP and Louise Haigh MP joined Derby Labour council candidates, PPC candidates for Derby North- Catherine Atkinson, Derby South- Baggy Shanker and campaigners from across Derby to launch the manifesto; a document created from month of listening to members, residents, businesses and city partners.

Teams of campaigners then spread across Chaddesden, listening to local issues on doorsteps and talking about Labour’s pledges including:
• Saving Ashgate Nursery
• Saving Libraries
• Creating a city centre task force
• Delivering an eco-centre
• Free bulky waste collections
• Reviewing the disastrous Tory budget.

Read our manifesto in full here- including our pledges for our first year in control of the council, the four year term and our long-term vision with a consistent Labour council.
